Singapore Boat Show
A stop-over in Singapore is always a good way for our Captain and crew of Raja Laut to break up the long sailing passage from Langkawi to Bali, Indonesia. Here the yacht can take the opportunity to be part of the Singapore Boat Show, which is one of the best established boat and yacht shows in Asia.
So this year we did our part in helping to promote yachting in Southeast Asia, and we are happy to note that the boat show was a fantastic success attracting more than 10 000 visitors, taking place in the new, high-class marina located on Sentoss called One Degree 15.
New marinas and developments are fast making Singapore a major yachting hub and as we soon discovered, Singapore is also an ideal port of departure for cruising to nearby tropical island destinations such as Pulau Tioman.
Surrounding the main island of Tioman are dozens of small, beautiful islands such as Aur, Pemanggil, Sibu, Tinggi, Besar and Dayang. Each island is special in its own way, offering activities ranging from 4-wheel drive excursions to mangrove treks and excellent diving. Tioman itself, the paradise setting of Bali Hai in the 1958 film South Pacific, is best known for its coral reefs and magnificent geography of steep hills, covered by thick virgin jungle, rising up to 3,500 feet.
Our recommended cruise would be to start by spending a day or two in Singapore, where you will be able to wine and dine in the finest Asia has to offer and pamper yourself in the region’s premier shopping destination before embarking on a cruise for a tropical getaway in the idyllic Tioman islands!

Ahoy,
